Before commissioning medical refrigerator qualification or temperature mapping, agree what the study must demonstrate. Its scope should reflect the stored products, cabinet design, operating conditions and applicable quality requirements.
Information to prepare
- Equipment model, serial number, location and operating manual.
- Required temperature range, acceptance criteria and intended materials.
- Normal loading arrangement, access frequency and room conditions.
- Maintenance history, previous studies and monitoring records.
- Any tender or audit requirements for the provider, protocol and report.
Agree the test protocol
Define the sensor layout, calibration documentation, recording interval, study duration and load conditions. Establish who approves the protocol, reviews deviations and accepts the final report. Sensor count and study duration must be justified for the equipment; one fixed combination does not suit every refrigerator.

Protect stock during testing
Agree backup storage and a test schedule. Representative-use measurements may be possible during normal operation, but deliberate power-failure or other disruptive challenges require a suitable protocol and safe test load. Do not expose valuable stock simply to test the equipment.
Review the deliverables
The report should identify the equipment, sensors, test conditions, temperature results, acceptance criteria, deviations and conclusion. Agree the delivery date and any corrective-action follow-up in the quotation. Report acceptance depends on the specific contract, quality system or procurement requirements.
