Select a transport system for your blood component and route
A blood bank, hospital or mobile team needs a complete system: a bag or container, thermal elements, a packing arrangement and temperature monitoring. OSELY helps compare Delta T BlueLine models and define the equipment required for your application.
Start with component requirements
Red cell components, platelets and frozen plasma require different transport conditions. The permitted range, duration and acceptance criteria follow the component specification and your blood service protocol. A particular transport configuration must be assessed for its payload and route conditions.
Which Delta T model to consider
BlueLine Bag
A soft bag for carrying by hand. Available models: 5, 10, 16 and 30L. Check blood bag placement with the coolant elements fitted: nominal volume is not usable payload capacity.
TransPorter BlueLine
A rigid container with EPP insulation for regular transport. Models: 5, 10, 20, 30 and 50L. The 20L and 30L versions have specified capacities of 21 and 31 L respectively.
What to include in the configuration
- A base bag or container identified by its exact part number.
- Compatible thermal elements, quantities, conditioning procedure and frames if required.
- A packing layout for blood bags, separators and the sensor, covering minimum and maximum loads.
- A temperature logger with agreed range, accuracy and reporting format.
- Packing instructions, acceptance criteria and evidence that the configuration is suitable.
How to compare prices
Delta T product prices cover the base model and the stated standard equipment. Thermal elements, frames and a logger are ordered separately. Compare quotations with equivalent contents; the complete system is priced after the route and load are defined.
A passive container does not regulate temperature automatically. Holding time depends on preparation, load, ambient conditions and opening. A generic “24/48/96 hours” claim without test conditions does not establish suitability for your route.
Information needed for selection and pricing
- Blood component and permitted temperature range under your protocol.
- Number, dimensions and starting temperature of blood bags; minimum and maximum loads.
- Total journey duration including waiting and a time margin; seasonal ambient conditions.
- Opening frequency, handling method and facilities for conditioning the thermal elements.
- Number of systems, logger and documentation requirements, and delivery deadline.
These details support agreement on the model, accessories, verification plan and price. A regular route needs a verified packing procedure with defined operating limits.

Planning references
ISBT provides guidance on blood transport container validation; the WHO manual covers blood cold chain principles. These references do not certify any particular Delta T model.
