Medical and laboratory freezers

This section brings together professional freezers for medical facilities, laboratories, blood services, pharmaceutical quality control and industrial research. The correct model is determined primarily by the validated storage temperature, the type of material, the required usable volume and the monitoring procedure. The catalogue includes Vestfrost, Snaige, Evermed and Antech equipment; the operating range and available functions must always be checked in the specification of the individual model.

Choose by operating temperature: −25°C medical and laboratory freezers, −40°C freezers, −60°C low-temperature freezers or −86°C ultra-low temperature freezers. For cryogenic applications down to −150°C, see −150°C cryogenic freezers. When the required range is not yet fixed, see the practical −60°C versus −86°C comparison.

How the temperature ranges differ

  • −25°C models cover routine frozen storage tasks where the approved protocol specifies this range.
  • −40°C equipment is used for deeper freezing and for applications that require a lower stable operating point.
  • −60°C freezers provide low-temperature storage for laboratories, pharmaceutical quality control and production environments.
  • −86°C freezers are intended for ultra-low temperature storage in biobanks and research laboratories, including long-term storage of temperature-sensitive samples where the protocol requires this range.

What to check before ordering

Start with the required operating set point and acceptable temperature deviation in your procedure. Then calculate the working load rather than choosing only by the nominal chamber size: baskets, racks, boxes and air circulation reduce the practically usable space. Check external dimensions, doorway access, ventilation clearances and the electrical supply at the installation site.

For regulated or critical storage, define monitoring requirements in advance. Depending on the model, this may include local alarms, temperature logging, remote alarm contacts or connection to an external monitoring system. Also plan the response to a power failure and the process for moving samples to backup storage. These requirements should be matched to the exact product specification, not assumed for the entire category.

Selection, delivery and qualification

Oselya helps match the temperature range, format and capacity to the storage task and the available room. We can also coordinate delivery and discuss installation and temperature qualification. For a precise quotation, provide the target temperature, material type, expected load, preferred upright or chest format and monitoring requirements.
