Vestfrost VLS 096Ae RF SDD is a solar-powered energy-efficient ice-lined vaccine refrigerator with a separate water-pack freezer. The vaccine compartment operates at +2…+8 °C and provides 110 L of usable vaccine storage. The separate freezer prepares water-packs for vaccine transport.
Benefits for vaccine storage
- SDD autonomy — 114 h 20 min: under the test conditions stated in the technical data.
- Grade A freeze protection: the design protects vaccines against freezing in the refrigerator compartment under the specified operating conditions.
- Water-pack preparation: freezing capacity of 2.4 kg/24 h supports outreach sessions and vaccine transport.
- Solar Direct Drive: solar panels power the refrigeration system without electrical energy-storage batteries.
How the ice lining works
The ice lining stores cooling in a built-in layer of ice around the vaccine compartment. During normal operation the system builds up this reserve. When the energy supply stops, the ice melts gradually and helps slow the warming of the vaccine compartment. In an SDD model, this reserve is used at night and during periods of insufficient solar energy. Actual duration depends on appliance preparation, ambient temperature, loading and lid opening.

Monitoring and scope of supply
Daily temperature control benefits from recorded readings, accessible history and alerts when temperatures deviate. EMS functions, the local display, alarms and remote access depend on the chosen configuration; specify the required monitoring level in the supply specification.
Agree the scope of supply before ordering: appliance, baskets, temperature logger or EMS, documentation and any required commissioning services. For solar power, also specify the panels and their rating, mounting hardware, cabling and installation to suit the installation site.
For configuration support, provide the required vaccine storage volume, installation location and monitoring requirements.
The freezer compartment is intended for water-packs and is not a general-purpose long-term plasma or biological-sample freezer.
Compliance note. WHO PQS is an international prequalification of a specific model and configuration for immunization programmes. It does not replace Ukrainian medical-device conformity assessment. Procurement must separately verify the current WHO record, local market documentation, calibration and the exact scope of supply.
