Controlled-rate freezers provide programmable cooling profiles before samples are transferred to long-term cryogenic storage. The CryoVita range includes vertical and horizontal chamber formats for different batch sizes and laboratory workflows.
How to choose the right configuration
- match chamber volume and sample holders to the planned batch size;
- define the required cooling program, end temperature and validation approach;
- plan liquid nitrogen supply, exhaust, monitoring and transfer to storage.
A controlled-rate freezer prepares samples for cryopreservation; it is not a substitute for a long-term storage vessel or biobank system.
