Antech CryoExpress MMF-2 is a portable ultra-low temperature freezer with a free-piston Stirling engine for controlled storage and transport of temperature-sensitive materials. It has a 25 L capacity, a −86…+18 °C range, and supports AC mains or low-voltage DC power. The suitability of the selected temperature must be checked against the material’s storage and transport protocol.

Key features
- Free-piston Stirling technology operates without restrictions on the angle of inclination, which is useful during transport.
- A microprocessor controller supports a wide temperature range from −86 to +18 °C.
- The 25 L compartment holds up to 18 standard 2″ cryoboxes with 81 or 100 positions.
- 12–24 V DC or 100–240 V AC power supports use in vehicles and indoors.
- The SUS304 stainless steel compartment and manual defrosting support cleaning and routine maintenance.
- A lock and over-temperature alarm help control access and temperature excursions.

Applications and limitations
- The freezer can be used for controlled transport of biological samples, reagents and other temperature-sensitive materials when their protocol matches the available temperature range.
- Before transport, stabilise the temperature and check the power source, alarms and sufficient operating time for the full route, including a reserve.
- The MMF-2 specification does not list a standard backup battery. Standalone operation requires a compatible external power source.
- The model does not replace certified transport packaging, a route log or cold-chain procedures when these are required for the specific shipment.
- Confirm the supplied cables, batteries, containers and monitoring equipment in the quotation.
Frequently asked questions
How should storage capacity be selected?
Consider container dimensions, quantity, rack layout and space needed for air circulation or sample retrieval. Nominal chamber volume is not the same as usable loaded volume.
Does a 0.1 °C display imply 0.1 °C temperature uniformity?
No. Display resolution, stability over time and spatial temperature uniformity describe different properties. Validate the usable storage area through temperature mapping under the agreed protocol.
What should be confirmed before delivery?
Confirm the exact model revision, electrical supply, door arrangement, access route, ventilation clearance, shelves or racks, monitoring and backup provision. List optional accessories separately in the order specification.
Does the alarm battery run the cooling system?
An alarm backup battery in a stationary freezer does not power its compressors. Continued cooling requires suitable backup power or a compatible backup cooling system. Portable freezer run time depends on the actual battery and operating conditions.
