Purpose and applications
An RVG sensor converts X-ray exposure into a digital dental image for compatible software. It requires a separate intraoral generator and computer. An optical intraoral scanner produces a different type of data.
Types and differences
XDI-401 is size 1 with a 20×30 mm active area; XDI-402 is size 2 with 26×34 mm. Both StarX PRO sensors use CMOS + CsI, 20 µm pixels and USB 2.0. Measured 20 lp/mm resolution is distinct from theoretical 25 lp/mm.
How to choose
Compare active area, housing dimensions, holders and generator compatibility. Select size for the patient and projections. Specify OS, drivers, software licence, archiving and DICOM workflow.
